Nashville is known as Music City and is the birthplace of country music – home to Ryman Auditorium, the Grand Ole Opry and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Davidson County is on a four-year revaluation cycle with 2025 as the next revaluation year. The County’s tax rate is 2.9220%. Each municipality also has an additional tax which is blended with County tax rates. For example, Nashville’s municipal tax rate is $0.332, making its property owners’ combined rate $3.254 ($2.9220 + $0.332).
The 2025 property value revaluation period is particularly important for industrial and commercial property owners in Davidson County. Davidson’s industrial/commercial parcel owners make up only 11.11% of all parcel owners in the county, but for the 2023 tax year, they represented 51% of the county’s estimated assessment values and 51% of the total tax burden.

You Can Impact Your Own Tax Responsibility
To prepare yourself for the 2025 Nashville and Davidson County revaluation process, Criterion suggests you consider asking yourself these questions:
Should I be paying less tax in Davidson County?
How do I appeal my property taxes in Davidson County?
How much is an appeal going to cost?
Criterion Property Tax Consultants can help you answer all these questions. First, we will evaluate your property assessment to determine if you are paying more than your fair share of the tax burden. Then, we will ascertain if your property assessment is fair. Finally, if it is not and you are paying more property taxes than you should, we’ll prepare an appeal with the Davidson County Board of Equalization and even with Tennessee’s State Board of Equalization if necessary to work toward a negotiated reduction.
Since 2021, we have reviewed more than 1,500 parcels with a total appraised value of over $10 Billion and achieved a total property tax savings on these properties of more than $7.6 Million.
